Metz’s Hart-Land Dairy consists of 220 cows, primarily Holsteins, with some Red and White Holsteins, Brown Swiss, and Registered Jerseys mixed in. Jeff manages the dairy and Mariann takes care of managing the finances. Jeff’s son, Nathan, and son-in-law, Nick Agrimson, take care of the morning milking and feeding, and oversee the day-to-day happenings on the farm.
The farm also employs 5 part-time high schoolers to help with evening and weekend milking. Jeff’s oldest daughter, Alicia, takes care of the record-keeping and manages the herd’s reproduction.
